Playful Learning: Letter Writing with Younger Children
I think letter writing is one of the best ways to encourage kids to write. They can choose to write a full-blown letter or a simple postcard.
Either way, Mariah at Playful Learning (www.playfullearning.net) has some terrific tips for doing this type of activity. She also has ready-made paper that you can print right from her website at home for your kid to use.
I strongly encourage you to check this out. Thanks, Mariah.

Thank you for the link to Mariah’s page. We have been looking for something like this to teach my 6 year old about what to include in a letter and this makes it perfectly clear. After some practice she will be able to do this on her own. Mariah also linked to another great idea–a letter writing kit which I am so excited about!
Thanks for the great work again Otis and the K5!
